Introduction

Gazi University School of Physical Education and Sports is the oldest school of its kind in Turkey. It was founded in 1932-1933 to educate PE teachers for secondary schools. In 1982 it merged with 19 May Youth and Sport Academy and named as Gazi Education Faculty Physical Education and Sport Department and then in 1992 it became a part of Gazi University and named School of Physical Education and Sports.

Gazi University Physical Education and Sport School, includes four departments: "Physical Education and Sports Teaching", "Trainer Teaching" , "Sports Management" and "Recreation"

Recration department is opened in late 2007 and it will accept its first students for the academic year 2008-2009.

Academic Personnel

In 2007, our school has 13 professors, 1 associate professor, 21 assistant professors, 6 lecturers, 11 Resaerch assistants. The distribution of the teaching staff is given below:

Duration of Education

In every department duration of education is 8 semesters.

Education language is Turkish and English. There is also Secondary Education Program in "Training Teaching" and "Sport Management" departments.

Student Acceptance Conditions

School of Physical Education and Sports accpets its students by a special ability test. After results of OSS, students with enough score can apply accoding to OSS Guide-book. Universty determines the exam dates of field ability tests.

Appropriate election exams are held according to the curriculum of each department. The guide books including detailed information about the exams will be given to students upon application.
